We are concerned about the textile industry from a sustainability point of view, cotton in particular. We consume more than 70 items of clothing each year; 30 years ago, it was less than half that. Globally, more than 40 million tons of textiles are discarded each year, with cotton being a large percentage. So to use recycled cotton is to buck that trend. It's part of the 'circularity economy' that people are increasingly talking about, where waste is not just thrown away, another use is found for it.
