This family of five meercats on a sofa is hand-carved from Albesia wood, by one of our Fairtrade partners in Bali. Albesia is one of the fastest growing trees in the world and therefore is a perfect sustainable material - in some countries, it is even considered an invasive species, and having an incentive to cut back the trees is great for sustaining the local ecosystem.

Our full range of Albesia animals are great gifts for any age! The smaller sets are perfect for a couple, and the bigger sets make an excellent gift for a family - with larger parent animals, and smaller ones to represent the children.
