Heavy, wonderfully weathered and full of stories we’ll probably never know, these original old padlocks have been collected and upcycled into striking decorative pieces, complete with their own key.

Each lock has developed its character naturally over years of use. Look closely and you’ll find worn metal, aged patina, stamped lettering, old maker’s marks and all sorts of little differences that hint at its previous life. Every padlock is individual, and no two are exactly the same.

Their generous size makes them particularly eye catching displayed on a shelf, sideboard or amongst a collection of vintage and reclaimed finds. The key adds another lovely authentic detail and, while we can’t tell you what these locks once guarded, we rather enjoy wondering.

Giving these old padlocks a new purpose means their history can be enjoyed rather than forgotten. Marks, scratches, areas of rust, colour variations and signs of previous use are all part of their charm and exactly what makes each one special.

The photographs show examples of these genuine upcycled padlocks. The one you receive will vary in size, shape, colour, markings, patina and finish. Each comes with a key, making every piece wonderfully individual.
